Srinagar, November 15: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday busted a terror module and arrested a Pakistani terrorist belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terror outfit from Qazigund village of Kulgam district. Some arms and ammunition were also recovered from the arrested terrorist.

Notably, Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist identified as Shamsul Waqar alias Pyara from Qazigund village of Kulgam district. Shamsul Waqar was arrested during checking at Check-e-Budwani in Kulgam. A police official confirmed the arrest and said that some arms and ammunition including an AK-47 rifle were recovered from Shamsul Waqar’s possession.

According to the sources, Shamsul Waqar is a local LeT agent operating in the area. He has been taken for interrogation for further leads. Meanwhile, the Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch Sector. However, Indian Army has retaliated to Pakistan’s unprovoked firing strongly.

The arrest comes a day after two terrorists were killed by the security forces after the fierce encounter took place in the Kund area of Kulgam district in southern Kashmir. Importantly, intense effort from security forces continues in Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to curb terrorism. Earlier on November 1 of this year, Jammu and Kashmir police also busted a network of Lashkar-e-Toiba terror outfit in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district by arresting six of its over-ground workers.
