Government aims to double the income of farmers by 2022: Trivendra Singh Rawat

Dehradun, November 17: The government is committed to doubling the income of farmers by 2022 said the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat in the inaugural session of IAS Week in the secretariat on Thursday. He further added that for this, the district officials and the concerned departmental officers will have to work with full commitment.

 

Best Practices will be marked and promoted. There is also a need to integrate the efforts of all line departments and funding agencies. A single window system must be established for the farmers to get information about all the schemes and all the facilities at one place. Secretary of Agriculture Senthil Pandian gave a detailed presentation to the Chief Minister and other IAS officers to double the income of farmers by 2022.

Pandian said that the government will take care of all aspects of farm management. Farmers get good quality seeds on time and increasing the seed replacement rate in agriculture (changes in seeds) is also a priority. He further added that by cultivating cluster-wise agricultural produce, Agriculture would be a beneficial measure. Poli House farming will also be encouraged. Soil Health Cards will be provided to all farmers and Farm Machinery Banks are being developed in the villages.
