Welcome back Champion! Young Kashmiri footballer Majid Khan who joined LeT, surrenders to security forces

Srinagar, November 17: “Where there is a will there is a way,” this quote is exactly suitable to Majid Irshad Khan, a 20-year-old footballer from Anantnag who joined Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit earlier in November, has now surrendered to security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

The whole world has set criteria to eradicate terrorism is to kill terrorists, however, India is the only country where it is believed that terrorism could be eradicated not by killing terrorists but killing the ideology and bringing youth into the mainstream. PM Modi led government after coming into power back in the year 2014, appealed all the youth to leave Naxalism, Maoism and terrorism and get back to the mainstream so that one can lead their lives in a bright and right way.

Majid Khan after surrendering in front of the security forces has proved that rather facing any kind of difficulty if anyone has a will, he will definitely get the way to overcome that difficulty. Notably, Majid Khan a 20-year-old footballer from Anantnag who joined Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit earlier in November surrendered to security forces on Friday.

During a press conference on Friday, Major General BS Raju applauded Majid’s decision of coming back and said, “It was a very brave decision by Majid Khan, I compliment him and assure that he will be able to get back to normal life very soon.”

While Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muneer Khan said, “You seriously expected Lashkar to say he was in their group? What are you saying, they kill people and then don't own up how will they acknowledge this?” Muneer Khan denied reports that Majid had surrendered before the Indian Army on Thursday and said that Majid contacted his family on Friday and told them that he wanted to come back.

Earlier today, Jammu and Kashmir’s police officer expressed his happiness over Majid Khan’s return and tweeted, “Alhamdullilah, he is back. Mother’s prayers have been answered. Hope and pray all the boys up in arms be back to their mothers. Let Peace prevail.”

Majjid, who used to be known as the David Beckham of Sadiquabad, is believed to have joined the LeT after the funeral of his friend Yawar Nissar Shergujri, a militant who was killed in an encounter with security forces in Anantnag in August. Majid had hinted at joining the militants in a Facebook post on October 29. “When the desire for martyrdom beats in your heart, why fear the gallows then?” Majid wrote on the post.
