Addressing the upper house, Reddy asserted that if CBFC clears the film, the state will allow its grand release on December 1. The Minister also assured that state government will ensure hassle-free law and order during the screening of Padmavati.
Clarifying on the issue of the ban, the home minister mentioned that Central Board of Film Certification is an autonomous body and granting permission to the film is the prerogative of the film body. Earlier BJP lawmaker Lahar Singh demanded a state-wide ban of Padmavati objecting the alleged distortion of the historic tale.
