Bonn, November 17: After two weeks of meetings the UN Climate Change Conference (COP23) will be concluded on Friday. Representatives from nearly 200 countries, including delegates from Washington, conveyed on applying the Paris climate change pact including a rulebook to be accepted next year.

The conference held between 6 -17 November is the first of the UN's climate body since US President Donald Trump publicized in June that the US will pull out from the agreement. Meanwhile, United States again uttered its desire to withdraw from the Paris Agreement.

In a declaration on Thursday, US representative, Judith G Garber said that President Trump had already made clear the US position. She further added that the US would continue to be a frontrunner in clean energy and innovation regardless of US opinions on the Paris Agreement, though the country pointed out that it remained open to the chance of retorting at a later date under terms more favorable to the American people.

The Paris pact pledges countries to limiting average global warming to under two degrees Celsius over Industrial Revolution levels, and 1.5 Celsius if possible, to prevent worst-case-scenario climate change.
