Mumbai, November 18: Bored of standing in a queue for getting a metro token? then here is the solution for you. Mumbai has launched an app through which you can get a ticket for metro through your mobile.

Mumbai Metro authorities have launched India’s first Mobile Ticketing System 'OnGo' which will help commuters cross the AFC gates using their mobile phones. With this the days of standing in long queues for tickets, tokens, card recharges and value passes have ended.

At an initial stage it is installed at Andheri Metro Station. Through the Mumbai Metro app, commuters can buy their token or pass and generate a QR Code. This code will gain access through the automated fare collection (AFC) gates. For the commute, they will only have to display the QR Code before a non-protruding glass on any AFC gate, specially installed for the new technology.

Commuters can use this app for getting single and return tickets. Besides this they can use it for recharging smart cards.

This makes the metro journey more smoother and hassle free.
