Top Japanese firms looking for collaboration with Indian IT companies as well as to invest in start-ups

Bangalore, November 2: While the inter-governmental co-operation between India and its all-weather friend Japan has reached an extraordinary level, many top Japanese firms are also looking for cooperating with IT companies from India. The bi-lateral relation will be more enriched if co-operation takes place in both governmental and private sectors.

A delegation from the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry is attending a large IT even of India, NASSCOM Product Conclave. The event is a large platform for product showcase to the world organized by the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). Delegation attending the conclave expressed the wish to Japanese local media.

A chunk of big companies including reputed firms like including Denso Corp., Hitachi Ltd., and Murata Manufacturing Co have expressed interest to make an alliance with Indian IT Companies to invest in local start-ups.

“While Denso, Hitachi, and Murata are seeking joint development of solutions in partnership with Indian IT firms, the four other companies are interested in startup investment opportunities,” said Ai Yamamoto, an official from japan METI’s Commerce and Information Policy Bureau.

The interest is mutual as NASSCOM also identified Japan as a market for collaboration in digital fonts. “The Japanese ecosystem is extremely innovative and competitive with new cutting-edge technology on the hardware side of things, and we believe Indian software capabilities in these new-age technologies complement each other well to co-develop and promote world-class solutions,” a statement from the NASSCOM shows.
