Commonwealth Shooting Championships: Gagan Narang wins silver medal in 50m rifle prone event

Brisbane, November 2: In the men’s 50m rifle prone event at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships held in Brisbane the Indian Olympic bronze –medallist Gagan Narang won a silver medal on Thursday. India had won five medals, including two golds on Wednesday.

 

Along with Narang, Swapnil Suresh Kusale also won the bronze medal in the event, while the Australian shooter Dane Sampson won the gold. The Indian women shooter Suraj Singh won the bronze, while Australia’s L.Yaumleuskay and E.Galiabovitch won the gold and silver respectively in women's 25m pistol final.

 

On Wednesday India’s Shahzar Rizvi, Omkar Singh and Jitu Rai the Indian pistol shooters won gold, silver and bronze medals in the 10-meter air pistol event. While Pooja Ghatkar bagged a gold medal in the 10-meter women's air rifle event and Anjum Moudgil won the silver medal. On Tuesday Indian shooter Heena Sidhu bagged the gold medal in the women's 10m Air Pistol event at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships.
