Moscow, November 2: As per the latest report from Russian Defense Ministry, six long-range bombers carried an attack against terrorist facilities in Syria. The attack has destroyed terrorist arms depots and command posts. The main targets of the attack were terrorist strongholds, shelters for military hardware, and command posts and all the targets were successfully destroyed.

"On November 2, while providing support for the Syrian government troops in routing militants of the ISIL [the former name of the Islamic State terrorist organization outlawed in Russia] in east Syria, in the province of Deir ez-Zor, six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers of Russia’s Aerospace Force delivered a massive strike on the ISIL facilities near the town of Abu Kamal," the ministry said.

Taking off from Russian aerodromes, the bombers flew over Iran and Iraq. Su-30SM fighter jets from the Hmeymim airbase provided cover for the long-range bombers over Syria. After successfully accomplishing their mission, the Russian planes returned to their home aerodrome.

Recently in Astana talk, Turkey and Iran joined Russia’s hand for increased humanitarian aid to Syria. The talk also discussed de-escalation zone, highlighted the recent success in eliminating terrorism from the country.
