Ayodhya, Nov 20: The Shia Wakf Board has come out with a new compromise formula to find amicable and lasting solution to the vexed Ramjanmabhumi issue. The board has issued a document in this regard that suggested building a grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya and constructing a mosque at Lucknow.

This document is a compromise pact entered with the Hindus by the Shia Wakf Board. The Shia Wakf Board has proposed to build the Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya and the mosque to be named as ‘Masjid-e-Aman’ at Lucknow on one acre land.

This document signed by representatives of both Hindus and Muslims is likely to be submitted to the Supreme Court which will be hearing the case from December 5 on a daily basis. The Shia Wakf Board will urge the apex court to end this dispute once for all.

The document named “Ek Raasta Ekata ki or” (A Way to Unity) rejected the claim of the Sunni Muslims on the disputed land at Ayodhya and stated that the land belonged to the Shia Muslims. The claim of the Sunnis was illegal, the document said at the outset.

The Shia Wakf Board maintained that the person who built the mosque was a Shia Muslim and till 1944 the progeny of Mir Banki had the ownership rights of the mosque. In 1944 the Sunni Wakf Board took over the ownership of the land by deceit. The Shia Wakf Board had moved the Faizabad Civil court and Allahabad High Court. The Allahabad HC had ruled that the Sunni claim was illegal.

Thus, the Shia Wakf Board said that since the Sunni Wakf Board has no legal authority in this dispute they cannot be a party to this dispute. In such a scenario the Shia Wakf Board has taken the initiative and came out with the compromise formula of temple at disputed site and ‘Masjid-e-Aman’ mosque on one acre land at Lucknow’s Husenabad area.

Shia Boad has said that Islam does not permit naming mosque in any individual’s name and therefore, ‘Babri Masjid’ does not have any religious sanction by Islamic tenets. Besides, in many Islamic countries mosques have been shifted to other locations and the documents mentioned some such cases.

The compromise formula document was signed by Shia Wakf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi, President of Akhara Parishad Mahand Narendra Giri, President of Ramjanmabhumi Nyas Mahang Nrutya Gopal Das, Dr Rameshwar Das of VHP, Mahant Suresh Das of Digambar Akhara, Dr Ram Vilas Vdanti, Member of Ramjanmabumi Nyas, and other sadhus and saints. But the document does not have a single signatory from the Sunni community
