Chandrababu Naidu pitches for rural infrastructure

Amaravati, Nov 21: Underlining the importance of sound infrastructure in villages, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed that fine-tuned ecosystem would bring change the prospects of rural Andhra Pradesh. Responding to the state assembly members, the Chief Minister stated that once the infrastructure improves, it would pave the way for affordable agriculture. 
 
Presenting the ongoing status of road construction, Naidu informed that around 13,192 km road has been constructed and 18,000 km would be initiated soon. The Chief Minister also assured the efficient and speedy rural electrification with the installation of 30 lakh LED bulbs.

In order to establish a communication link with the government offices, Chief Minister Naidu declared that a high-quality video conference tools would be made available at every Panchayat Raj building. Addressing the issue of Housing programme, Chandrababu narrated that government is working on the plan of building 19 lakh houses. He also coined the idea of tree plantation on either side of the roads for a length of 19,500 km.  

The Chief Minister expressed his happiness tie-up between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Andhra Pradesh state government for making Andhra Pradesh free from Open Defecation by March 2018.
