India climbs 3 steps to achieve 51 position on IMD talent rankings

Bern, November 21: In terms of attracting, developing and retaining talent, India has improved its ranking by three ranks to 51 globally. Switzerland topped the list gathered by leading global business school IMD. Worldwide, Europe continues to lead the rankings, with Switzerland, Denmark, and Belgium being the top three countries. Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Sweden and Luxembourg made up the top 10.

 

The in-depth survey of thousands of executives from 63 different economies, and more than two decades’ data from the IMD World Competitiveness Center is conducted. The study is based on countries’ performance in three main categories namely investment and development, appeal and readiness. The three categories assess how countries perform in a wide range of areas of education, apprenticeships, workplace training, language skills, cost of living, quality of life, remuneration and tax rates.

 

India was ranked 62nd, 43rd and 29th on these terms of investment and development, appeal and readiness respectively. China led the BRICS bloc with a ranking of 40, followed by Russia at 43 and South Africa at 48. Brazil was ranked just after India at the 52nd slot.

The IMD World Competitiveness Center has been a forerunner in the field of the competitiveness of nations and World Economy Ranking since 1989.
