Sochi, November 21: While Russia is constantly putting efforts for negotiation to end Six years long Syrian civil war, in a rare visit outside Syria Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met Russian President Putin in Sochi. The talk took place ahead of Presidents meet of Russia, Turkey, and Iran scheduled on 22nd November. During the meet, Putin said the anti-terrorism fight in Russia is approaching its end.

UN-sponsored negotiations are going to be resumed by 28th November in Geneva. Before that, Syrian President Assad mentioned that Syria welcomes help but not “interference”. He also expressed their interest in the political solution in Syria. “We welcome those who are really interested in a political settlement [in Syria], we are ready to have a dialogue with them,” Assad said.

Now basically Russia mainly wants to move to the political process. Syrian President also thinks this is an apt time for such move. Syrian President is ardently ready to end the civil war which has killed hundreds of thousands of people and displaced millions in last six years. Putin also said UN should sponsor the political process and take active initiative.

"I believe that the problem of terrorism is universal, a lot should be done to achieve a complete victory over terrorism, but as far as our cooperation in the fight against terrorists in Syria goes, the military operation is really coming to an end," Putin said.
