With 'Tejaswini' scheme for girls and Gift Milk for school kids, Jharkhand to become skilled and healthy

Ranchi, November 21: With the involvement of local people, the implementation of the schemes will be faster. People will be empowered said the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das in a meeting with the officials. He further added that with this, institutions related to civil society will be irrelevant. Intermediaries will end and girls to be made self-reliant and skilled.

 

The Chief Minister said to the officials that the six backward districts of the state, Pakud, Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Sahebganj and Chaibasa have to be in the category of developed districts in the next 2-3 years. These districts should get priority in the implementation of schemes related to the poor. Das said that under the Tejaswini scheme, girls aged from 14 to 24 years of 17 district’s 154 blocks have to be made skilled.

For this, the Block Coordinator should be given the responsibility for the formation of the Tejaswini Club. Girls and women should be trained and connected to the work according to their interests. In the remaining seven districts, the Central Government's Sabala scheme should be implemented. The Chief Minister asked the officials to ensure the plans to be taken up from the month of January.

The Chief Minister said that the number of BPL families can be reduced by the Johar scheme. By 2022, the government wants to raise every family above the poverty line. The poor families want to ensure the income of 15-20 thousand rupees. For this, poor families need to be linked to poultry, goat rearing, fisheries, horticulture, beekeeping etc. There will be coordination between production and market.

Das launched the Gift Milk scheme with 10 thousand school children in Latehar which will provide free milk to children living in remote areas. Milk is very important with mid-day meal to remove malnutrition in children, said Das. A glass of Milk a day will complete the development of children he added.
