Relief to pockets of poor: Maharashtra Govt to sell Turdal at Rs 55/kg

Mumbai, November 22: After rice and wheat its time for the pulses to be cheaper in Maharashtra. The state government has decided to sell Turdal at a subsidized rate of Rs 55 per kg in Ration shops. This decision was taken by cabinet meeting of CM Fadnavis.

 

The state government has obtained 25 lakh 25 thousand quintals of pulses from the farmers as there was boost in the production of pulses in the year 2016-17. So to benefit the farmers as well as the public this decision played a vital role, as the current rate of Turdal is above 75 rs per kg. So Maharashtra government will sell it with subsidy of nearly 20 rs per kg. The subsidized Dal will be available to those holding ration cards.

The State government bought this quantity of Dal worth around Rs 1300 Cr which is now been ordered for milling. After which it will be available for sale.

 

Out of the total stock, nearly 7 lakh quintals of Dal will be distributed among the various departments namely School Education, Women and Child Development, Medical Education, Home Affairs, Social Justice and Adivasi Development.
