Yuki makes emphatic start at Bengaluru Open

Bengaluru, November 22: India’s Tennis player Yuki Bhambri have made a forceful start in the Bengaluru Open on Tuesday. In straight sets, Bhambri beat Sriram N Balaji by 6-3, 6-3. Earlier, Bhambri had won the Pune Challenger. Third seeded Bhambri will face Spanish player in P. Martinez Portero in the second round of the tournament.

 

But, the tournament for Indian wild card entrants Vishnu Vardhan and Suraj Prabodh has been finished as they lost their respective men's singles matches in straight sets to crash out in the opening round. Blaz Kavcic of Slovenia who is also top seeded in the tournament defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina's Tomislav Brkic in a three-setter 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 to enter the second round.

Croatian player Borna Gojo defeated the second seeded Spanish player Adrian Menendez-Maceiras by 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 in the first round match. Yuki currently is on 122nd rank in the world after he had registered a win over Frenchman Gael Monfils. He was ranked 474th at the start of the year.
