Hong Kong Super Series: Indian Shuttlers Sindhu, Saina, Prannoy progressed into second round

Kowlong, November 23: Indian Shuttlers Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy progressed into the second round of the Hong Kong Super Series Badminton at Kowlong. The Women brigade won the games in straight sets while Prannoy took three sets to win the match of the first round. 

After beating YY Leung of Hong Kong in a straight set 21-18, 21-10, Indian Badminton player and Olympic silver medallist P.V. Sindhu will face Aya Ohori of Japan in the second round. In another match, Olympic Bronze winner Saina Nehwal who outsmarted Denmark’s Mette Poulsen by 21-19, 23-21 will take on Chen Yufei of China.

In the Men's singles, National Champion HS Prannoy will face Kuzumasa Kakai of Japan in the second round after he defeated Yun Hu of Hong Kong in three games 19-21, 21-17, 21-15.
