PM Modi reviews PRAGATI project for safe and convenient Chardham Yatra for pilgrims

Dehradun, November 23: For a safe and convenient travel facility for Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri will be available to pilgrims Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviews the PRAGATI (Proactive Governance and Timely Implementation) project and expressed satisfaction over the progress made this month for the construction of Chardham (All Weather Road). He said that on the basis of priority, this important project is to be done with quality. Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh informed the Prime Minister about Chardham Road.

 

The Chief Secretary informed that work is being done by fixing the timeframe for the construction of 889 km of roads that were constructed at a cost of Rs. 11700 crores. In 889 km, 395 km of works were approved by the Government of India. Of these 340 km of works has been awarded. The land will be handed over in the first week of January for tooling of the road. Regarding compensation distribution,

Singh informed that out of the total amount received from 190 crore rupees, 145 crore rupees have been distributed to 10 thousand farmers. The amount received in November of Rs. 28.54 crore will be distributed in a week. 250 hectare forest land has been cleared.

Regarding Prime Minister's Mineral Sector Welfare Scheme, the Chief Secretary informed that the State Government has been following the directions of constituting the District Mineral Foundation (DMF). In the people affected in the mineral sector has been given the treatment of medical facilities, supply of clean drinking water, welfare projects under DMF and also the restoration of ecological damage is going on which is caused by mining in affected areas.

It is worth considering that a total of 889 km Chardham (All Weather Road) two lane is being constructed at a cost of Rs 11,700 crore. In it there will be a tunnel in Chamba (Tehri) and Radi Top (Uttarkashi), 15 big bridges, 101 small bridges, 3596 culvert, 12 bypasses, and security walls in 29 slide zones, 33 roadside public facility center and Crash Barrier parapet walls on all roads. This ambitious project includes seven packages. In which 140 km Rishikeshrudraprayag Marg, 95 km Dharasuyamunotri Marg, 76 km Rudraprayaggauri Kund Marg, 150 km Tanakpurpithauragarh road will be constructed by Lonivi. 160 km Rudraprayagamana route BRO, 144 km route PUU and 124 km Dharsugangotri Marg will be constructed by NHI DCL.
