Beijing, November 24: Education is considered as the purest form to nourish a child. But this story will horrify you as a nursery in Beijing was caught giving drug injections to the toddlers. They were even given pills to make them sleep.

The nursery is run by RYB Education, a company that is listed on the New York stock exchange and describes itself as China’s largest early childhood education service provider. The matter came out as the parents of children found marks of needle on the bodies of their children. The parents also claimed that the children were fed two pills after the lunch and by having that pills children go to sleep. Disobedient students were also forced to stand naked or were locked up in a dark room at the kindergarten.

In this case some teachers are suspended till the police authorities are doing investigation against the whole matter. Beijing police said they had carried out forensic testing and obtained surveillance camera footage for the investigation.

“We deeply apologize for the serious anxiety this matter has brought to parents and society,” RYB said in a statement on its official microblog on Friday, adding that it was helping authorities.

China’s education ministry has begun a special investigation into the operation of kindergartens, it said in a statement on Thursday, and told education departments nationwide to “take warning from these types of incidents”.
