PV Sindhu enters into Semi finals of Hong Kong Open Super Series

Kowlong, November 24: India's star shuttler PV Sindhu has reached the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Open Super Series Badminton. The last time runner-up, Sindhu beat Japan's World No. 2 Akane Yamaguchi in the quarter-finals on Friday. Sindhu won the match 21-12, 21-19 in 36 minutes straight into the game.

 

Now, on Saturday, Sindhu will play against Thailand's world number-6 Ratchanok Intanon in the semi-finals. It was the sixth battle between 22nd World Number 3 Sindhu and Yamaguchi. Of these, Sindhu gave tough fight to Yamaguchi four times. 20 years old Yamaguchi has defeated Sindhu twice.

 

The Silver Medalist of Rio Olympics, Sindhu made it to the quarter-finals by defeating Japan's World No. 14 Aya Ohori in 21 minutes, 21-14, 21-17 in 39 minutes. In the first round, Sindhu defeated Yu Yi Luong of Hong Kong's 786th ranked 21-18, 21-10 in 26 minutes.

On the other hand, the world's 11th player Saina's journey had stopped in the second round. In the men's singles world number -16 HS Prannoy also suffered a defeat in the second round. Now all India's hopes are based on PV Sindhu.
