We must speed up justice delivery system; Poor should not be denied access to Justice: Prez Kovind on #NationalLawDay

New Delhi, November 25: ‘Time has come to address the issue of adjournments. We must speed up the justice delivery system, poor must not be denied access to justice’, said President Ram Nath Kovind while speaking on the occasion of National Law Day celebrations.

President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the 2-day Conference on National Law Day and address the occasion saying that this is the age of communication and we must use it to speed up justice delivery system. Prez Kovind called upon legal fraternity to provide free legal services to the poor as they can't afford fees. 

National Law Day celebrations were organised at Vigyan Bhavan and was hosted by Law Commission of India and Niti Aayog. While Chief Justice Deepak Misra also addressed the conference saying that for the first time the law commission is celebrating the National Law Day. Protection of Fundamental Rights of the citizens is sacrosanct duty of Judiciary; we need to defend the Constitution, he added further.

The conference expects that the two day long deliberations would provide a platform to the leading lights of our country to reflect upon the guiding principles enshrined in the constitution of India and the commitment of India’s democracy to the rule of law.
