Mumbai, November 26: Indian construction is regarded as one of the best constitutions in World. The constitution is the basic foundation of World’s largest democracy. Back in 1949 on 26th November Indian constitution was adopted by the constituent assembly. Father of Constitution:

Earlier this day was celebrated as national Law Day. In 2015, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government at the center declared 26 November as Constitution Day. This was the same year of the 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar. As we all know, under B.R. Ambedkar’s guidance draft of the Constitution was prepared by the drafting committee and later the constitution came into force on January 26, 1950, this decision was a huge tribute to the father of our constitution.

Members of Constituent Assembly:

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Sanjay Phakey, Jawaharlal Nehru, C. Rajagopalachari, Rajendra Prasad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Kanaiyalal Munshi, Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar, Sandipkumar Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Nalini Ranjan Ghosh, and Balwantrai Mehta were some important figures in the constituent assembly. The assembly met in sessions open to the public, for 166 days, spread over a period of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days before adopting the Constitution, the 308 members of the assembly signed two copies of the document (one each in Hindi and English) on 24 January 1950.

Parliamentary form of government:

The Constitution provides for a Parliamentary form of government which is federal in structure with certain unitary features. The constitutional head of the Executive of the Union is the President. As per Article 79 of the Constitution of India, the council of the Parliament of the Union consists of the President and two Houses to be known as the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) and the House of the People (Lok Sabha). Article 74(1) of the Constitution provides that there shall be a Council of Ministers with a Prime Minister as its head to aid and advise the President The real executive power is thus vested in the Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister as its head.

PM Modi’s view on the day:

During his address to the nation on man ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid tributes to the makers of our Constitution and remembered Babasaheb Ambedkar. He said contribution of Babasaheb Ambedkar is unforgettable. Ambekar made it sure that every section of society would be equally benefitted from the constitution.
