Remembering the Mumbai’s deadliest terror attack on Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi says ‘Terrorism has become global scourge’

New Delhi, November 26: “Terrorism has become global scourge”, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while Addressing nation through ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled the victims of 26/11 Mumbai Attacks saying that “Nobody should forget that 26/11 was the day when, 9 years ago, terrorists attacked Mumbai. Nobody can forget the sacrifice of civilians and brave soldiers. Also highlighted the significance of ‘Constitution Day’ saying that “the Constitution is the soul of India.” 

Appreciating the children’s involvement into the current happenings, PM Modi said that “Newspaper had urged students to write letters to the Prime Minister, and he was excited to know that young kids are also aware of all the happenings around them. They are socially aware." Also read some few letters that were written by children and was enriched by their maturity, participation in the on-going events.

 

Asserting on the diverse cultures of India, the Constitution designed by the great leaders like Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and many more have great part in today’s India which has given so much to experience.

“Our constitution is a vast document. It's our constitution day. It's obvious that we are reminded of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and his immense contribution towards the construction of a great document. "We pay our heartfelt tributes to him," he added. 

Remembering the great Sardar Vallabbhai Patel’s death anniversary, PM Modi recalled the efforts taken by Vallabhbhai Patel to take India at different level.

 

Throwing light on the adverse effects of ‘Terrorism’, PM Modi said that for over 4 decades, India has been raising the issue of terror. Initially, the world did not take us seriously but now the world is realizing the destructive aspects of terrorism.

India is the land of Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavira, Guru Nanak, Mahatma Gandhi have always disseminated the message of non-violence and unity. We believe in non-violence. "Terrorism is a threat to humanity," says Modi.

 

Also, he further reminded that on 4th December, India will be celebrating Indian Navy Day. Indian Navy provides protection and protection of our beaches. I congratulate all the people associated with the nine armies. Our civilization has been flourished on the river banks like Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada etc. Rivers and seas have been our economic and strategic strength.  India's glorious naval tradition dates back to times of the Chola Empire and the empire of Shivaji Maharaj, he recalled. 

 

Recalling about World Soil Day which is on the 5th of December, PM Modi continued that an important component of the Earth is “soil”. Whatever we eat is linked only to this soil. In a way, the complete food chain is connected to soil. In our culture, there has been efforts to foster a feeling of devotion and gratitude towards our farms, our soil among the people and at the same time scientific farming methods and techniques have been adopted which provide nutrients to the soil. In the life of the farmer of this country both aspects have been important- reverence to his soil and preserving & nurturing it scientifically.

Every countryman salutes the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers. Armed Forces Flag Day, observed on 7 December, is a day to show our respect to the country's Armed Forces, said PM further. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the country on "Eid Milad-un-Nabi”.
