JK youth should take up sports, give their hundred percent to perform consistently well

Srinagar, November 27: The youth of Jammu and Kashmir should take up sports and give their hundred percent to perform consistently well. This was said by the former skipper of Indian cricket team and Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday during his visit to Kunzar area of Baramulla District in Kashmir as a chief guest for the Chinar Cricket Premier League. 

Notably, Lieutenant Colonel MS Dhoni on the occasion advised the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to take up to sports and give their hundred percent to perform consistently well. He said, “As far as sports is concerned, it is important to have a platform, but after that, the players have to work really hard. Our country is huge and many people play cricket. The aim should be to represent the country for which you have to consistently perform at first-class level."

MS Dhoni further cited his own example and said, "Even if there are not such facilities here, but when we were playing it was not that we had many facilities." The 36-year-old Indian wicket-keeper batsman also advised that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir must pay attention to education as well. He said, "Education is important and having infrastructure is a must so that people study here and then can apply for jobs outside as well. At the end of the day, a person wants to do well with his life and for his family."

MS Dhoni also appealed the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to cooperate with the army to take the valley on the way forward towards development. When asked whether India should resume cricketing ties with Pakistan, MS Dhoni said, "When we talk about cricket, in most people's opinion it is a sport, but when it comes to India and Pakistan series, it is much more than that. It is also a diplomatic and political decision."

In the end, MS Dhoni thanked the cricket fans and appreciated the love they showered on him. MS Dhoni also gave his autographs on pieces of paper, bats etc to his fans.
