Pyongyang, November 29: After remaining inactive for two months North Korea has again North Korea fired a Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile. Hours after the launch North Korea said the new type of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) could reach the entire U.S. mainland. The test came a week after US President Donald Trump brought back the country to the list of states sponsoring terrorism.

As per a report from North Korea’s state TV the new powerful missile reached an altitude of around 4,475 kilometers. The height is 10 times higher than that of the international space station. The missile flew 950 km during its 53-minute flight before splashing down off the Japanese coast. U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis also accepted that it went higher than the any other latest tests.

“After watching the successful launch of the new type ICBM Hwasong-15, Kim Jong Un declared with pride that now we have finally realized the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force, the cause of building a rocket power,” according to a statement read by a television presenter of North Korean state TV.

United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the latest launch. “This is a clear violation of Security Council resolutions and shows complete disregard for the united view of the international community,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.
