Kolkata, November 3: The futile attempt of Bengal government to suppress the statistics of Dengue has made the situation worse in the state. Whereas every day new Dengue cases are coming up every day and many patients dying from dengue, the administration has sought a denial mode. Citizens are even not getting proper information. Hence now citizens have started filing litigations in public interest. The questions are rising why health department is not starting campaigns to aware citizens. Even Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed earlier that the pathologies are creating dengue panic.

On Thursday three public interests litigations have been filed. One of the PIL from a professor of Jadavpur University, Deborshi Chakraborty has mentioned that they are not alleging government is not taking steps but it is government’s duty to aware people about the real situation.

Another PIL from a lawyer Rabishankar Chattopadhyay has asked for proper information, immediate treatment, and compensation. The third case has been filed by a citizen named Subhankar Chakraborty. Even a request to make a special medical board for fast treatment of Dengue has been made.

The petition from Deborshi Chakraborty has an attachment of a report from Union Health Ministry. The report said till the dates of publishing 10,000 citizens from the state were attacked by dengue. The petitioner has also provided the statistics from previous 7 years. As state government is refereeing to dengue as “unknown fever”, he has told it is disrespect to medical science.
