Terrorists brutally killed BJP youth leader Gowhar Ahmad Bhat; Party president Amit Shah condemns

Srinagar, November 3: Gowhar Ahmad Bhat, the district president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing was brutally killed by terrorists on Thursday in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

BJP national President Amit Shah in a series of tweet said, “Pained to learn about the brutal murder of our @BJYM District President Gowhar Ahmed in Shopian, J&K. My deepest condolences to his family. Terrorists must realize that they cannot stop the youth of the valley from choosing a better future for themselves.” “BJP stands firmly with the family of martyr Gowhar Ahmed in this moment of immense grief,” Shah added.

While General Secretary of BJP Ram Madhav, “Tragedy strikes at BJP. Gowhar Bhat district youth president, shopian in Kashmir killed by terrorists. Met me just 3 days ago in Srinagar”. “Body found with throat slit. Price we pay in our fight against terrorism. Deep condolences. These sacrifices make our determination stronger,” he added.

On the other side, condemning the killing of Gowhar Ahmad Bhat, senior BJP leader and legislator Surinder Ambardar said, ‘’This killing is unfortunate. We condemn this cowardly act. The innocent, young political worker represented the youth’s aspiration, it will not be tolerated.’’

BJP’s State general secretary and Jammu and Kashmir in-charge Dr. Narendra Singh and BJP's media secretary Altaf Thakur also condemned the killing of Gowhar Ahmad Bhat and expressed their condolences to the family of a victim. Altaf Thakur said, “Bhat had played a crucial role in organizing the first youth convention held at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium last month, in which thousands of workers had participated.”

Notably, terrorists abducted a BJP district youth president Gowhar Ahmad Bhat was brutally killed terrorists by slitting his throat at Shopian. He was abducted from his home at Kellora village on Wednesday 6 pm and his body was recovered from the neighbouring village.

Confirming the horrific incident, Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir range, SP Pani tweeted saying, “Terrorists killed civilian Gowhar Ahmed in Shopian. Investigation has started.”

 

However, as soon as this unfortunate incident came to light the search operation was launched to hunt down terrorists responsible for the act and reinforcements have been rushed to the area to augment the forces on the ground. This is the second such incident in two weeks in Shopian district.

A huge crowd has participated in the funeral of Gowhar Ahmed Bhat which is also a tight slap on Hurriyat and separatists who are spreading bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir. The participation of huge crowd also sends a strong message to Hurriyat and separatists that Kashmiris are against terrorism.

Mujaid Alam, a literature student who hails from Kashmir has shared a photo of Gowhar Ahmed Bhat funeral showcasing the participation of huge amount of public. He said in a twitter, “Huge crowd in d funeral of #GowharAhmed is a tyt slap on Hurriyat who r spreading bloodshed in #Kashmir, Kashmiris r still agnst #terrorism.”
