Notably, security forces gunned down a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist after a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama’s Samboora village. After getting a specific input from intelligence sources, the security forces launched a search operation on Thursday night in Samboora village near Pampore. As soon as the security forces launched the search operation, terrorists opened fire that erupted in the fierce encounter.

Security forces including Jammu and Kashmir police special operations Group (SOG), Army’s Rashtriya Rifle and CRPF Jawans eliminated one terrorist. During the gunfight, two Jawans were critically injured and unfortunately, they later succumbed to death due to heavy injuries. However, two other terrorists managed to escape.

Earlier, in the day, five security personnel were injured as terrorists opened fire on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. A search operation was immediately launched in the region to track down the militants soon after the incident.

Jammu and Kashmir police earlier on Tuesday busted a network of Lashkar-e-Toiba terror outfit in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district by arresting six of its over-ground workers. Interestingly, curbing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is the topmost agenda of Indian security forces. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that at least 175 terrorists are eliminated by Indian troops in a time period of only 10 months.
