Moscow, November 30: Again Russia and the US get drowned in conflict. This time, the conflict is regarding sanctions and diplomatic ties with North Korea. Russia has rejected the US call to cut ties with Pyongyang. After North Korea launched a missile on Wednesday US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley called on all countries to sever relations with Pyongyang. Russia thinks it would be unconstructive and won’t help to resolve the issue.

"You know, to sever ties with [North] Korea would be the easiest thing to do. The question is what we will do to resolve the issue. We believe that we should pool our efforts to find an answer to this question," Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also expressed his disregard of the decision. "We see this negatively," he told. "It's as if the recent actions of the US are consciously directed to provoke Pyongyang towards other radical actions," he added.

After remaining inactive for two months North Korea again fired a Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile. Hours after the launch North Korea said the new type of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) could reach the entire U.S. mainland. The test came a week after US President Donald Trump brought back the country to the list of states sponsoring terrorism.

The US reacted to the missile launch instantly and President Donald Trump told the US will “take care of it”. "In addition to fully implementing all UN sanctions, all countries should sever diplomatic relations with North Korea and limit military, scientific, technical, or commercial cooperation," Nikki Haley said.
