New Delhi, November 4: The Apex Court has asked the telecom industry and the banking industry to include the last date of linking Aadhaar with their bank accounts and contact numbers in the messages they send to their customers.

The bench of justice A K Sikri and Ashok Bhushan refused to pass any interim order in the matter of Aadhar linking with bank accounts and mobile connections. The court said that a final hearing in all Aadhaar-related issues would start before another bench in the last week of this month.

It said, telecom service providers should also tell customers that last date to link Aadhaar with mobile numbers is February 6, next year.

Also, court has asked these service providers to include the last dates for the same. Notably, the last date to link with bank accounts is 31 Dec 2017 and for mobile numbers is 31 March 2018.

The court sought the government's response on four petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Aadhaar Act and linking of bank accounts and mobile numbers with the 12-digit biometric identification number.

Three petitions challenge the mandatory rule to link Bank account and mobile number to Aadhaar number. It raised issues which endanger Fundamental Rights of citizens of India, protected under Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the Constitution.
