Commonwealth Shooting Championships: Indian shooters Prakash, Amanpreet, Jitu win all three medals in 50m pistol event

Gold Coast, November 4: In a Commonwealth Shooting Championships, Indian Shooters Prakash Nanjappa, Amanpreet Singh and Jitu Rai won all the three medals in the 50m pistol event at Gold Coast in Australia on Friday. Olympic bronze-medallist Gagan Narang on Thursday had won a silver while in men’s 50m rifle prone event Swapnil Suresh Kusale clinched the bronze medal.

With total 222.4 points, Prakash bagged the gold medal while Amanpreet scored 222 points to register the silver medal to his name. Jitu managed to score 201.9 points for which he got the bronze medal.

In women's 25m pistol final, Indian Shooter Annuraj Singh bagged the bronze medal with 28 points. While Australia’s Yauhleuskaya Lalita won the gold with 35 points followed by the Australia’s Galiabovitch Elena with 32 points won the silver medal.

On Wednesday Indian shooters Shahzar Rizvi, Omkar Singh, and Jitu Rai won gold, silver and bronze medals in the 10-meter air pistol event. While Pooja Ghatkar bagged a gold medal in the 10-meter women's air rifle event and Anjum Moudgil won the silver medal. On Tuesday Indian shooter Heena Sidhu bagged the gold medal in the women's 10m Air Pistol event at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships.
