Chandigarh, November 6: While all climate-related issues are growing up day by day, Haryana government has prepared an action plan of Rs 22 crore for promoting climate-smart agriculture in the State. The plan will get fund from National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) out of the ‘National Adoption Fund for Climate Change.
With the changing weather and various socio-climatic changes, farmers need to adopt wit new practices. Hence steps were being taken by the department for making the farmers aware of the climate-smart practices for adoption and mitigation through community mobilization and extension activity.
Automated Weather Stations will be established in the state to save crops by receiving latest weather information. This will prevent loss of crops due to various weather issues as farmers will be able to receive latest weather information.
