Six Naxals killed in encounter, nine weapons recovered

Narayanpur, November 7: The Security forces killed at least six Naxalites in an encounter which took place in Abhujhmargh Prahaar in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. After the counterattack finished, the security forces recovered nine weapons from the spot and destroyed a few Naxals camps in Sukma area.

 

According to the local media, Director General of Police, DM Awasthi said that last night Operation prahaar-2 was taken into action. Naxals were allegedly making demands for collecting ration for ultras, arranging a meeting of villagers, spreading maoist propaganda and planting IEDs to harm security forces.

The security forces recovered two .303 rifles and four 315 bore rifle. The district of Narayanpur is an insurgency-hit area in the state. About seven Naxals were arrested along with a firearm and some explosives last month

On 27th October, the security forces have arrested two Naxals by launching the joint operation in Sukma district which comes under the Bhejji police station of Chhattisgarh. The operation was launched jointly by the Cobra, Special Task Force, Central Reserve Police Force, DRG, and DF.
