Shimla, November 8: The schedule for calling general elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Himachal Pradesh has been announced on 12th October 2017. The poll in Himachal Pradesh is scheduled to be held in a single phase on 9th November on 68 Constituencies. Here are some of the facts regarding the Himachal Pradesh constituencies.

 

With 5025941 total electors, there are 2568761 total numbers of Male Electors including 37440 service voters and for Females, the number of the voters is 2457166 including 134 service voters. While the third gender Electors are 14. The State has a total number of 338 candidates of which 19 candidates are female.

The 18th numbered Constituency Assembly of Dharamshala has 12 candidates which are the maximum in the state and the 46th numbered Constituency Assembly of Jhanduta has 2 candidates which are the minimum in the state. The 33rd numbered Mandi has 2 Women Candidates, the only Constituency with more than one women candidate.

From total 338 candidates, 112 are independents while 27 are registered but unrecognized. Area wise Largest Constituency Assembly is Lahaul and Spiti and Electorate wise Largest Constituency Assembly is Sullah.

Electorate wise Smallest Constituency Assembly is Lahaul and Spiti. In the Constituency Assembly of Jhanduta, there will be a straight contest between two candidates. With the state having 7525 polling stations there will be the use of 11283 balloting units (BUs), 9809 controlling units (CUs) and 11050 Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs).
