New Delhi, November 9: The International Mentoring Summit with the theme Mentoring Young Grampreneurs for Inclusive Growth, attended by the Vice President of India, M.Venkaiah Naidu. He said that to transform aspirational rural India encouragement of Grampreneurship is important. On the occasion of Silver Jubilee of Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST), Royal Highness Prince Charles and other dignitaries were also present. 

Addressing the event the Vice President said that, the youth of rural India are eager to learn the entrepreneurial skill. India is a rapidly changing country. To promote inclusive growth, to make India as one of the fastest growing economies in the world present Government has been tirelessly working and to support the start-up environment policies like Start-up India and Atal Innovation Mission have been started.

 

He further added that Constraints like access to credit, advantages of technology, marketing support need to be addressed. Challenge is to encourage more youth to make choice of becoming entrepreneurs, rather than job-seekers. Both public and private sectors have to play a catalytic role in further developing such an eco-system.

 

Unleashing the capabilities of the poor and to generate meaningful, sustainable livelihoods is then challenge also poor are entrepreneurial is the core belief and have innate desire to come out of poverty. The National Urban Livelihoods Mission aimed at reducing poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households by enabling them to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, he added.

 

He further said that the challenge is to encourage more youth to make the choice of becoming entrepreneurs, rather than be job-seekers. Many more opportunities for decent livelihoods must be created rapidly in the rural areas, he added.
