YSR Congress demands action against defected lawmakers

Amravati, Nov 9: Ahead of the crucial Winter session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, a delegation of YSR Congress under the leadership of Chief Whip Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy submitted a memorandum to the Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker, Kodela Siva Prasada Rao.

The panel demanded a strict action against the 21 YSR Congress MLAs who recently defected from YSR Congress and joined the ruling Telugu Desam pavilion. Earlier, the principal opposition party had opted for the boycott of the full winter session. On the other had YSR Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy is on statewide Praja Sankalpa Yatra, a mass outreach drive, aiming at 2019 general election and state assembly polls.

Taking a cognizance of the developments Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker advised the principal opposition party to refrain from the schedule boycott of Winter session and urged to participate in the deliberations for the welfare of the people. The speaker underlined the fact that the matter is sub judice so he advised YSR Congress panel to wait for the ruling of the apex court but assured legitimate intervention after the final verdict of the Supreme Court.
