3 burqa-clad suicide attackers stir Islamabad; at least 12 killed and 25 injured

Islamabad, December 1: Terrorists equipped with heavy weapons opened fire near Agriculture Directorate in Peshawar leaving 12 people killed and 25 others injured today. The irregular firing and explosion is being heard inside the directorate. 

According to local media sources, around 3 burqa-clad attackers entered the Agriculture Directorate and had shot the guard. Pakistan armed forces have reached the site while the university roads have been closed.

The security forces killed all the terrorists. They also recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the building. The injured were rushed to Khyber Teaching Hospital and Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said two soldiers were injured in the attack and shifted to the Combined Military Hospital for treatment.

 

According to initial reports, hospital sources said that there are seven students, one Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, one police officer, a guard, and a journalist among the wounded.

The process of recovering the injured from the hostel is ongoing.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb have strongly condemned the terrorist attack. They prayed for the eternal peace of the martyrs and early recovery of the injured persons.
