New Delhi, Dec 1: BJP patriarch and former home Minister Lal Krishna Advani voiced his support in favor of Padmavati director Sanjay Lila Bhansali. On Thursday, the Parliamentary panel under the Chairmanship of Anurag Thakur quizzed Bhansali over the recent controversy associated with his period drama. As reported by The Hindu, the former BJP leader opposed the move of banning movie even before its grand releases.

As quoted by The Indian Expressed, the former Information and Broadcasting Minister had asked fellow members who were objecting the content of the Deepika Padukone starrer celluloid to wait for the decision of Central Board of Film Certification.

On this occasion, the panel rapped Bhansali for arranging a special screening for selective media outlets even before due certification. Following the interrogation, the director confessed about his move. The director further assured that his production house would follow all the guidelines of Central Board of Film Certification before presenting before the moviegoers.

When asked about the alleged violation of Historical sequences associated with Rani Padmini, the veteran filmmaker mentioned that Padmavati was based on a poem penned by Malik Mohammad Jayasi. Bhansali indicated that he would address all the issue raised by committee members in written form.
