Tehran, December 10: Conflict-torn Middle East might get a solution for one of its many problems as Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran is ready to restore ties with Saudi Arabia. Obviously, there are conditions given like to stop bombing Yemen and cuts its alleged ties with Israel. The country cut tie with Saudi Arabia back in 2016.

"If Saudi Arabia, our neighboring country, stops bombing Yemen from tomorrow and stand up against Israel and relies on its own people, we do not see any barriers in front of improving our relations with them," Iranian local media reported.

Bilateral relations between the countries have been strained due to various reasons such as different religious views, closes to different allies, different stand on Syria conflict etc. The two countries are both main regional powers. After the Saudi diplomatic missions in Tehran and Mashhad were ransacked by Iranian protesters, Saudi Arabia broke off diplomatic relations with Iran on January 3, 2016.

Though he talked about restoring ties, the speech clearly expressed Iranian’s stark opposition to US and the anger over conflict in the nuclear deal. "We are not like America that has broken its promises so far in the nuclear deal. When we sign an agreement, we will remain loyal to it and keep our promises," he said.
