Seoul, December 11: Taking one more step against North Korea, South Korea has imposed new sanctions on the country. It has added several North Korean groups and individuals to its sanctions list as part of efforts to cut off funding for the North Korean weapons programs. The sanctions took effect on Monday.
Previously South Korean Foreign Ministry said, “This unilateral sanction will prevent illegal funds flowing to North Korea and contribute to reinforcing international communities’ sanctions against North Korea.”
The more North Korea becomes stubborn against the US, the US and its allies in the region are also preparing more for the crisis. Amid the ongoing show of force US, Japan and South Korea will hold two days of missile tracking drills from Monday. This one will be the sixth set of drills of its kind with the aim to cope with the growing North Korean missile threat.
