Eight Maoists killed by the Police in Telangana

Hyderabad, December 14: In an encounter with Telangana Police, eight Maoists have reportedly been killed near Tekulapalli village in Bhadradri Kothagudem district today.

The encounter began late on Wednesday night and is still on. Based on a tip-off regarding the Maoist movement of a Maoist dalam in the area, police began the combing operation which led to the encounter. According to sources, the police confiscated weapons include an SLR, two 8 mm rifles and two SBBL guns along with eight kit bags.

After a brief gun battle the police team recovered 2 SLR, 2 8MM rifle and other weapons including 12 bore rifles from the encounter spot along with the dead bodies of the rebels.

The Maoists killed in the encounter were originally associated with the CPI-ML Janashakti group. The group was formed by Chandra Pulla Reddy who was contemporary to communist revolutionary Charu Majumdar of Naxalbari movement.

In today's encounter a major group was wiped out by Telangana police who was active in the state.
