Moscow, December 14: Russia is clearly satisfied with the progress of Russian air campaigns in Syria. While Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently said Russian military has reached its desired success level, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russia’s operation in Syria has largely reached the final goal and Syrian land is free of Islamic militants.

"This years-long operation has in fact largely reached its goal, the Syrian territory has been freed from terrorists and conditions are ripe for a political settlement," Peskov said. He also mentioned vital role taken by Russian President Putin n commanding the operations by the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Russian upper House Speaker also said that due to the victory of Russia over Daesh (ISIS) in Syria made it possible to change the situation in the Middle East. The collaborative effort of Russian and Syrian army helped to keep the integrity of Syria.

On the other hand, Us also announced victory over Daesh in Iraq and Syria and said Russia’s contribution was not that much of the crisis. The US-led coalition of some 70 members began its anti-Daesh campaign in 2014.

"The Hmeymim airbase became a symbol for the entire region and the world that Moscow does not abandon its allies amid difficult circumstances," a pro-Russian Syrian political scientist Timur Dwidar said.
