New Delhi, Dec 18: Describing the victory in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh as victory of politics of performance over casteism, dynasty-ism and appeasement, BJP National President Amit Shah on Monday congratulated the BJP workers and thanked the people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh for reposing their faith in the development policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing reporters at BJP Head Quarters here the Congress has tried to raise the caste issue and diverted the attention of the voters from the main issues concerning the people and development of the states.

The BJP President said that the results of the two state assemblies should serve as a lesson to these parties indulging in the caste politics and dynasty and appeasement.

Shah said, “We have once again emerged triumphant. I offer heartfelt gratitude to the people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh that they gave us another opportunity to serve them.”

The BJP President said that the two-thirds majority in Himachal Pradesh should be viewed as expression of the electorate to join Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s politics of development.

Foretelling that the BJP will emerge victorious in 2019 general elections, the BJP President said that they were confident about winning people’s support to translate Modi’s vision of India 2022 into a reality involving the youth of the country.

The BJP President did not accept that the fight in Gujarat was a close contest and said that the party has won with a comfortable margin of 8 per cent over the Congress. Difference of 8 per cent is certainly not a ‘close contest’, he said.

Shah also exuded confidence on BJP winning the upcoming polls in the four states including Karnataka which once had come under the BJP rule.
