The car industry is not an exception and it is also opting for the go green policy gradually. Against this backdrop, the giant automotive manufacturer Toyota is looking to offer an electrified option for every car model in its lineup by around 2025. Though the decision is basically taken due to a chunk of the growing market for green vehicles, it is definitely an exemplary one in the current situation.

It will increase the number of battery electric vehicle models to more than 10 in the first half of the 2020s. Moreover, it plans to expand its lineup of plug-in hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell cars in the 2020s.

“As a mass-market automaker we need to expand our offering of electric cars,” Executive Vice President Shigeki Terashi said at a briefing in Tokyo. “To promote the wider use of EVs, we need to increase our technical development capabilities and address the societal impact of the technology,” the top executive added.

In last week also announced it is entering talks with Panasonic Corp. to jointly develop safe and energy efficient rechargeable car batteries. The new announcement came just after one week and it surprised the industry as for go green policy automotive manufacturers mainly concentrate on plug-in hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell cars.
