203 terrorists killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir this year: Minister Hansraj Ahir informs Lok Sabha

New Delhi, December 19: “As many as 203 terrorists were killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir this year.” This was said by State Home Minister Hansraj Ahir in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.

 

Notably, Minister Hansraj Ahir said to the Lok Sabha that 203 terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir this year till December 10, as compared to 150 in the calendar year 2016, 108 in 2015 and 110 in 2014. Giving the information about the number of civilians killed in terror-related violence in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister Hansraj Ahir said while 37 of them were killed till December 10 this year, 15 were killed in the calendar year 2016, 17 in 2015 and 28 in 2014.

The State Home Minister further noted that terror-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir till 10 this year were also the highest at 335 as compared to 322 in the calendar year 2016, 208 in 2015 and 222 in 2014. Ninety-one terrorists were also arrested till December 10 this year.

According to the data provided by the minister, while 75 security personnel were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir till December 10 this year, 82 were martyred in the calendar year 2016, 39 in 2015 and 47 in 2014. “While there have been two attacks each in 2014 and 2015 on defence establishments, six attacks took place in 2016. This year up to December 10, one defence establishment came under attack,” he noted.
