New Delhi, December 2: The United States President Donald Trump in the wee hours of Saturday telephoned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed satisfaction over the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES).

Notably, US President Donald Trump called on PM Modi and discussed over the recently concluded Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in late November this year where Ivanka Trump was the chief guest. President Trump while speaking to PM Modi expressed satisfaction over the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) the countries co-hosted in Hyderabad late last month.

The White House said in a statement, “President Donald J. Trump spoke today with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India. The leaders expressed satisfaction with the recent Global Entrepreneurship Summit, co-hosted by the United States and India, which brought together entrepreneurs and investors from around the world, including 38 U.S. states, the District of Colombia, and Puerto Rico.”

However, the telephonic conversation between US president Trump and PM Modi was the first since the two leaders met in Manila on the sidelines of the ASEAN and East Asia Summit on November 13. Interestingly, the US delegation led by Trump’s daughter and senior advisor Ivanka Trump arrived in India for the three-day event with the theme, "Women, First Priority for All".

PM Modi also attended the inauguration of the summit with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman on November 28. At least 1,500 delegates including entrepreneurs, investors and eco-system supporters from 150 nations participated in the mega event, more than half of them women.
