New Delhi, December 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asked party MPs to continue working for the people with more dedication and prepare for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP Parliamentary Board met on Wednesday morning for the first time after winning the recent Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. In the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the victory to the people.

The Prime Minister also called for strengthening the party at booth levels across India to ensure a victory in 2019 Lok Sabha polls. He also said that the youth must be promoted within and outside the party to ensure better development.

In the meeting, BJP President Amit Shah also thanked the people of both the states for bringing the party to power.

While briefing the media about the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said, "Prime Minister Modi said that work should be done to bring the youth forward on every platform. He also spoke about new millennium voters, those born after 2000."

"New generation should be involved in services for country, society and development," he added.

Further hailing Prime Minister Modi's support for the people, the union minister added, "Modi ji said our booth level workers, with support of people, must tread towards victory and should not be distracted by what the Opposition is saying about credibility and the low-level comments they are making."
