New Delhi, December 22: The initiative to start She-Box portal to solve grievances regarding sexual harassment on women has gained momentum. Complaints regarding inappropriate behaviour in companies have been pouring in this portal. Around 350 complaints have been registered for inappropriate behaviour. The complaints have come from both the government as well as private sector offices.
Protecting the dignity and morale of a woman has become a prime importance for everyone. Taking into consideration the problems faced by women in workplaces the Women and Child Development (WCD) took up the efforts to start the portal for women in workplace launched by then WCD Minister Maneka Gandhi. The portal earlier was only available and made accessible to women of government offices but now it’s both for government and private sector working women. The details of the new update on this portal and detailed information were given by Vijendra Kumar, Minister of States for Women and Child Development.
Background:
This portal was started to ensure proper implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the Ministry of Women & Child Development had launched an online complaint management system titled Sexual Harassment electronic–Box (SHe-Box). Ensuring the dignity of women the efforts are moving towards a positive path.
