Seoul, December 22: While constant missile firing, nuclear activities of North Korea is harming inter-Korean stability, South Korea has extended his hand for talks with the north. South Korea is ready to have a dialogue with North Korea without preconditions.

"If we can hold talks with North Korea, we are willing to have talks with the North over issues of concerns to it in an open-minded manner and without conditions," Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon told. "In that sense, we will make efforts to restore strained inter-Korean relations and make better ties to help resolve North Korea's nuclear problem," he added.

South Korea is hosting 2018’s winter Olympic. The Minister also hoped for the positive participation of North Korea in the games and it could be a good opportunity for North if it seeks negotiation with South. Though the North missed a deadline to confirm whether it would send its figure skating pairs team, there is still an option of wild card entry. Even South Korean President Moon proposed delaying joint annual military drills between Seoul and Washington that would coincide with the Winter Olympics and the Paralympics. The dialogue is being given more importance as communication channels are shut due to a long-term conflict.

"There is a need to explore what each side wants by meeting without any conditions for each other. There could be disagreements and also common ground, but compromise can be found," the official quoted saying by South Korean media. The official also added that the country is ready to actively review any North Korean offer for the talk.
