Pyongyang, December 25: As usually, North Korea like always has come up with angry reply over latest United Nation Security Council’s latest sanction on North Korea. The country has fired back more warnings targeting the United States.

North Korea called the latest UN sanctions ‘act of war’ as the country is outraged by a fresh round of sanctions. The country’s Foreign Ministry said the US is terrified of its nuclear development.

"We define this 'sanctions resolution' rigged up by the US and its followers as a grave infringement upon the sovereignty of our Republic, as an act of war violating peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the region and categorically reject the 'resolution,'" the ministry said.

The United Nations Security Council imposed new sanctions on North Korea in the wake of its continued nuclear and ballistic weapons programme, including the ballistic missile launch on 28 November. In favor of the US-drafted resolutions, even the main trading partners of North Korea, China, and Russia also voted.

In a unanimously adopted resolution, the 15-member Council also decided that all UN Member States shall “prohibit” the direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer to the DPRK of crude oil, refined petroleum products, and various types of equipment and raw materials.
